Dreamlarge @ Melbourne University

Advertisement by The University of Melbourne. Dream large? What's that? Does it compel you to go to The University of Melbourne?

I think it's nice, but I'm not sure how effective it was, targeting the required demographic.

Steve Madden - Danke

It's a shame Steve Madden has gone under in Australia and New Zealand. Tragic for Steve Madden, not so tragic for me. All their left over stock has gone to one place in each state. For Victoria, they're all in North Melbourne now. Last week I went in to buy some boots and closed toed shoes. It was still a little cold last week and I wasn't ready to look at the open toed shoes yet. It started getting much warmer this week so I popped back in today and had a look at their range of sandals. I picked these up for $20. Not bad for a cute pair of Steve Madden leather sandals.

These babies were on the wall, where the sample or one off sizes were on display. Everything was basically size 37. Bad luck for people who aren't 37, great luck for me. In the middle of the floor were more shoes with a larger range of sizes.

Givenchy SGV 633

Givenchy SGV 633

I bought new sunnies today! I tried heaps on and these were the ones that just looked the best on. The sales assistant said that these particular ones have been out for 6 months, but the new range from the other brands (out this week) are more oversized, which is just not for me. No matter how fashionable they seem, I can't help feeling like a clown. Anyway, these sit nicely on my face and look great :); my 2009 sunnies.

Natio Moiturising Lip Balm

[caption id="attachment_169" align="aligncenter" width="480" caption="Natio Moisturising Lip Balm - $3.95"]Natio Moisturising Lip Balm[/caption]

I was in the Chemist today and saw this little cutie in a tub at the counter. I'm usually a Bonne Belle girl but thought I might give this one a go. For $3.95, can't go wrong.

On the label:  A lip conditioning balm with SPF 30+ prodection, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera to promot soft, supple lips. Water resistant for up to 4 hours.

Verdict: Not bad. No flavour (which is good in my books) and my lips feel very moisturised. My lips do indeed feel soft and supple. I guess it's also good if I want to go into the sun, it's SPF 30+. 4 hours water resistant? Good for water? Probably just the sunscreen that they used, or maybe I can drink water for up to 4 hours without needing to re-apply.  Haha.

Trixan Body Purchase

My Trixan Body purchase came in the mail today. I was delighted to see it was in a cute little box.

[caption id="attachment_117" align="aligncenter" width="480" caption="Trixian Body Order"]Trixian Body Order[/caption]

I bought the top to match the pants I bought during the Seafolly DFO Essendon sale. The top cost me $50.37. Together, it goes a little something like this:

[caption id="attachment_119" align="aligncenter" width="400" caption="Seafolly Mondrian Halter Bra (S3804-079) - Malibu"]Seafolly Mondrian Halter Bra (S3804-079)[/caption]

I also purchased a Baku Swimwear Portofino Moulded Tri Bra, but once again, it didn't quite look like the image. There was beading and cups, but not in the same places as there were in the picture. So I'm sending it back. I just emailed and they gave me a reply paid return address. I guess my Baku Portofino Tie Side Pant are just going to stay unmatched.

Cobra Starship - "Good Girls Go Bad"

Haha! Leighton Meester does music videos now. It was good until she started singing. And then it was just bad, terribad.

Clicky for full song.

It annoys me terribly that I can't embed the full video into Wordpress. I could do it in Blogger and Tumblr very easily. Hmph. Wordpress, not that great, akshully.

Colour Changing DigiCubes

[caption id="attachment_98" align="aligncenter" width="350" caption="Colour Changing DigiCubes"]Colour_Changing_DigiCubes_image12738[/caption]

I just bought one... It tells the temperature! I know, what a crazy and random buy. It's the product of the day at zazz, a less awesome, Australian version of woot. $9.95 + $3.35 shipping.

I'm Going to Charge You Anyway (DAMN YOU SWAROVSKI!)

If letting me place an order for an out of stock item, and cancelling a placed order with no explanation wasn't enough, Swarovski has now decided to charge my credit card $160. Either accept my order and charge me money or cancel my order and leave my credit card alone! Don't cancel my order and charge my credit card! Swarovski is truly ridiculous at e commerce.

Unacceptable errors:

  • The online website let me place an order for an item that is not available. I would have been less upset if I hadn't wanted the bangle so much. My hopes were raised immensely and then sent crashing two days later when the order was cancelled.

  • No explanation was given for why my order was cancelled two days after the intial order was placed. An email was simply sent to inform me of the cancellation. When I tried to replace the order, I saw that the item I had wanted to buy was no longer available and suspected availability was the reason for the cancellation. I had to call Swarovski to find out the actual reason for the cancellation. It would have been if a reason was given to me straight up or some sort of offer of an alternative product was made. Or something? Anything?

  • My credit card was charged for an order that was cancelled. I was told there was no hope of receving my items yet $160 has been removed from my credit card.

Swarovski Evanescent Earrings

Even though I'm not a fan of the Swarovski customer experience, I bought a pair of Evanescent Earrings from their online store today. I think it'll be a nice pair that I can wear every day or dress it up with a nice necklace when I go out.

$120 $60

$72.50 in total with $12.50 shipping

Update: 2 weeks after my online order, the earrings have arrived.

[caption id="attachment_165" align="aligncenter" width="480" caption="Swarovski Evanescent Earrings"]Swarovski Evanescent Earrings[/caption]

Your order unfortunately had to be deleted.

My Swarovski order was cancelled today. I received an email to say "my order unfortunately had to be deleted". There was no explanation, just no more order. This was a bit puzzling. I had a quick look online and saw that while the Meteorite Necklace was still available, the Eyeliner bangle was not. I assumed this was the reason my order was cancelled. But instead of having someone call me or even email an explanation, they just emailed to to say CANCEL! Hmph. Not terribly impressive customer service.

To clarify what actually happened, I both emailed and called them in the morning. I didn't get an answer straight away from either instance but later in the afternoon they called back to say the order was indeed canceled because there was no more stock. The lady who called didn't any offer an alternatives, just sorry. I guess there's nothing she could do now but seriously, if you don't have the stock, you don't make it available online! You definitely shouldn't allow customers to place orders. Something has gone seriously wrong in the process. I would never have expected Swarovski to exhibit such poor processes and customer service.

Another problem that I have with Swarovski, their website isn't very user friendly. Many links take me to the "Dear Customer, The page you have requested is no longer valid." page. Do some usability! Clean up your processes.

Swarovski Sale

Swarovki's having their mid-year sale! Fantastic. I wouldn't recommend going into the stores though. I went the Elizabeth Street store today and it took 10 minutes before I was served. There was not a lot of stock left and about 10 customers, standing around waiting to be served by one of the two sales assistants. It was very busy indeed. What I wanted were sold out in the store but still available online. I placed my order for these two items today. It was over $150 in total so shipping was for free.

update: I never ended up receiving either of these items because my order was cancelled a couple of days later with no explanation but they decided to charge my credit card anyway.

Zodee Swimwear Sale

Zodee's currently having a huge swimwear sale right now.  Some of the stuff's 90% off! Crazy. I couldn't resist. I bought 3+ pairs of bathers.

This image is from trixanbody because the images at Zodee were just drawings, as you can see by the next image.

PANT205-PF

Baku - Portofino - Tie Side Pant (PANT205-PF) $5.50

And finally, these aren't part of a set but they were very cute and only $5.50.

PANT108SGBaku - Portofino - Tie Side Pant (PANT205-PF) $5.50

DHL express shipping costs $6.95. My items should be here tomorrow or the day after!

Update: My items arrived on the 25th, one day after I placed/paid for the order! They sure are efficient over there at Zodee. Everything was perfect except for the Baku Portofino Soft Cup Slide Tri. The item was described on the website to have soft cup sliding tri, neck and back ties for optimum comfort and fit, optional cups and bead detailing. The item I received had none of those qualities (no sliding cups, no back and neck ties, no optional cups and no bead detailing). No biggie, I just mailed it back to them. I'll see if I can get it exchanged for a pair of Seafolly Sunset Stripe Pants

Seafolly Ziggy Separates

After buying the Seafolly bottoms from DFO Essendon, I decided to try and find some matching tops. In the end I ended up going with Ziggy 70's Halter Singlet to go with my Retro Pant with Belt. Together, it goes a little something like this:

Seafolly Sale at DFO Essendon

There's a sale going on at Seafolly in DFO Essendon right now! At least 20% off everything and lots of stuf for way way less. There's even bathers going for $5. But they're in buckets and you have to dig. I found these two in my size; both $5 each! What a bargain.

I also bought a one piece chlorine resistant swimsuit in black. It has a racer back and looks very much like a basic speedo. I should be fantastic for a couple of laps around the pool. No more wearing bikinis at the local aquatic center.
